Albert Graff Obituary

Albert Graff, 99, of West Melbourne, FL passed away on October 4, 2012. He moved to Melbourne in 1975.

Al was born on February 5, 1913 in New York, NY. He moved to Miami in 1946.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nathalie; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Alice Graff; his sister, Barbara Segan; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Edward and his sister, Rosa Madell.

He was a machinist and tool and die maker by trade, but turned to art in his 70's. With no formal training, he taught himself to become an excellent bird carver and artist. He carved over 100 birds of amazing realism. He was a co-founder and 1st president of the Space Coast Wood Carvers. He also learned to draw and paint when he was in his 80's creating beautiful artwork.

He was a pioneer in RV travel beginning in the 30's. After his retirement, he travelled full time by RV for 10 years visiting all 50 states and travelling extensively in Europe.

He and Nathalie have been happy residents of Buena Vida Retirement Home for 15 years. He has been a Holmes Hospital Volunteer for the past 10 years.

A celebration of Al's life will be held on October 21, 2012 at 2 PM, at Buena Vida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Buena Vida Foundation.
