Born on August 17, 1952 in Miami Beach, FL, Zeke was a proud 5th generation Floridian who passed away January 2, 2013. The family moved to Cocoa, in 1957, and Zeke lived the rest of his life at Lake Poinsett, where he loved to fish, hunt and ride his airboat.
Zeke is survived by his wife, Sheree, who 30 years ago came into his life, and he knew he would never let her go; his daughter, Angela (Damien Brooks); son, Charles; brother, Robert (Karol); sister, Judy; and nephews, Robby (Michele) and Mark (Michelle).
Zeke graduated from the University of Florida and went on to become a Nursing Home Administrator at Adare Medical Center, Rockledge, a family owned business. His career took him to other nursing facilities in Brevard County, until his retirement. He was a past President of the Cocoa Kiwanis Club, and as such was involved with the local 4-H. The Kiwanis Club recently honored Zeke by naming one of their events "The Zeke Clifton Annual Cocoa Kiwanis Kids Fishing Day". He was also a past board member of the Crosswinds Youth Services. His neighborhood friends referred to him as the unofficial "Mayor" of Lake Poinsett. Zeke had a zest for living and a ready smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and his many, many friends.
A Celebration of Zeke's Life will be held 1 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Coastal Community Church, 5795 Falcon Blvd. Cocoa, FL 32927.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cocoa Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 1121, Cocoa, FL 32923.
