Livia B. Riconte, 91, went peacefully to meet her Lord, on February 25, 2013.
She was born to the late John and Hortense Riconte in Bucharest, Romania. Livia graduated from the University of Bucharest with a Bachelor's degree in philosophy and literature. She was married to the late George Berneaga, and they both lived together in Bucharest prior to relocating to Florida.
Livia was a French teacher, administrative assistant, and writer in Romania. When in the United States, she wrote two novels exposing the atrocities of communism and resilience of the Romanian people. Livia also wrote four books of poems, coloring the Romanian lifestyle. Additionally, she volunteered in kindergarten classes with Brevard Public Schools and at Divine Mercy Catholic School for over 20 years. For her service, Livia was awarded three Apple Awards, a Silver Apple Award, and a Gold Apple Award by the public school system, as well as a Platinum Apple Award by Governor Jeb Bush.
Livia is survived by her son, Michael Constantinide; and grandson, John Constantinide.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the kindergarten class of Divine Mercy Catholic Academy.
