Karl Michael Thomas, 78, passed away July 12, 2013 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA and had worked for Westinghouse Corporation until his retirement in 1996.
Before moving to Florida in 1987, he lived in Levittown PA. Karl was a graduate of Ohio State University, where he earned a BS in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, as well as a Master of Science degree. He belonged to various professional societies including AIAA, SAE and ASME. Karl enjoyed staying current on aeronautical and automotive technologies and design.
Karl is survived by his wife, Maureen; and his three sons, Michael (Amber) of Palm City, FL, Paul (Sherry) of Broomfield, CO and Stephen (Candace) of King George, VA. He had six grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of Karl's life will be held at 3pm Friday, July 19th at First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach, followed by a reception at Costa Del Sol Condominium Club House. The internment will be private.
