Carl A. Hofmann, 80, of Palm Bay died Sunday (9/8) in Holmes Regional Hospital. A native of Bronx, New York, he came to the Palm Bay area in 1987 from Savannah, Ga. He was an engineer for Grumman Aerospace Corp. prior to retiring. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Port Malabar Country Club and the Elks Lodge. His favorite pastimes included bridge, golf, boating, and swimming. Carl served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife: Ruth; son: Carl, Jr (Stephanie) of Winter Park; daughters: Cathy (David) Daniel of Vero Beach, Karen (Jim) Blakewood of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren: Kristen, Julie, and Jimmy Blakewood, Gretchen and Carl Hofmann; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday (9/12) at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 720 Emerson Dr NE, Palm Bay, from 10 until 11 AM. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM with a reception at the church to follow. The entombment and committal service will be that afternoon at 2:00 in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
