Earl Spencer, Jr. passed away on December 4, 2013 in Titusville. Earl was born December 12, 1936 in Frenchburg, Kentucky to Earl and Cleda Spencer.

Graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, IN in 1954, attended University of Colorado in Boulder on a basketball scholarship. He joined the U.S. Army in 1955 and served in Korea from 1955-57. After leaving the Army, Earl moved to Palatka, FL where he met his wife, Cathy. They moved to Titusville in December of 1959, where Earl began his career in the insurance industry as the Allstate Insurance Agent. Earl worked at Kingman-Carpenter Agency from the early 1960s through the early 70s. From 1974 until 2001, he was president and owner of Spencer & Associates, which had offices in Titusville, Melbourne and Tallahassee.

Earl was very active in the community. He coached Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball, was a volunteer fireman and served as president of many organizations including the Jaycee's, Spaceport Rotary Club, Tiger Bay, and ABC (Associated Builders & Contractors), and Spacecoast EDC. He was a founding member and president of North Brevard Medical Support and a founding member and chairman for many years of the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation, where he was instrumental in the building of the Children's Center.

Earl discovered his passion for woodworking later in his life and enjoyed making many pieces of furniture that are cherished by his family and friends.

Survived by his wife of 55 years, Cathy Spencer

His son, Greg Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Sonny Jester; grandchildren: Annie and Elizabeth Jester, Nick & Ciara Spencer; sisters: Marilyn Faulkner of Mt. Sterling, KY and Carolyn Montgomery of Orlando, FL.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm December 12, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Titusville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Center at Jess Parrish Medical Foundation at P.O. Box 2969, Titusville, FL 32781 or Vitas Hospice at 4450 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 250, Melbourne, FL 32934.
