Joseph A. Tolle, Jr.

West Melbourne, FL

Joseph A. Tolle, Jr., 77, of West Melbourne is now at home with Jesus as of Monday, February 10. He was surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Key West, Florida to the late Joseph A. Tolle, Sr. and Elizabeth Gates Tolle. Joe was a fifth generation Floridian, a Gator, who graduated from University of Florida in 1959 with a degree in Pharmacy, thus fulfilling a life-long ambition.

In 1974, he opened Sebastian River Drugs, the first local pharmacy in Sebastian in many years. He later opened Bay Street Pharmacy with Frank Sherako in 1984. He retired from there in 2001 and started his next "career" as a Master Gardener with training from University of Florida's IFAS program. He volunteered with the UF extension plant clinic on a weekly basis for many years.

Joe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra H. Tolle. Other survivors include his children, Kin (Butch) McMurray of Manchester Township, Indiana, Joe III "Tiger" (Theresa) of Grant, Florida and William of Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Also surviving are grandchildren Megan and Travis McMurray, Taryn, Joseph IV "TJ", and Taelyn Tolle and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe is survived by one sister, Rosalee "Bud" Schoder of Tampa and brothers-in-law Charlie Smith of Sanford and Dale Roberts of Tampa. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Betty Jo Johnson, Caroline Roberts and Anne Smith.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church Melbourne where he served as an usher for many years. Joe will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his family. He was a very involved husband, father and grandfather enjoying fishing, camping and traveling with his family. We will miss his quick wit and huge smile. However, we rejoice knowing that he has gone home! John 14:2-3
