William "Pete" Carnes
William "Pete" Carnes, 64, of Melbourne, FL, passed away Monday, March 25, 2014. Born on March 7, 1950, in Baltimore, MD to the late William and Malfridur (Illugadottir) Carnes.
He was a retired Major in the United States Air Force, and well known and loved on local Patrick Air Force Base for his work as a physician's assistant at the clinic. When he wasn't seeing patients, he was working with Health First, teaching numerous classes and working many events.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Carnes and daughter Sarah Wood (Samuel), and their two children, Jackson William and Ella Joy, of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Rebecca Carnes, of Tallahassee, FL; brothers, Ed Carnes (Diane) and Steve Carnes (Joanne) of New Jersey; sister Sue Herget (Craig), of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Beach Funeral Home, in Indian Harbour Beach (1689 South Patrick Drive) on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing from 10-11. Attendees need not wear black. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the
