Captain H. Keith Adkisson, USN, 89, died on August 4, 2014, in Cocoa Beach. Keith was born in Lincoln, NE, September 21, 1924. He entered the Navy during WWII in 1943, making the Navy his career. Captain Adkisson spent 32 years in the USN and was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1966. He had many assignments including tours of duty in the Mediterranean Sea, Guam, Morocco, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Okinawa, and Japan.
He married Janice Pauley in 1946, who predeceased him in 1992. He married Hazel Chambers in 1999 and they have been living in Cocoa Beach.
He is survived by his sons, Steven and Richard; daughter, Rebecca Brown; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday August 6, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach.
Captain Adkisson will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
