Katheryn Goodyear Obituary
Melbourne, FL
Katheryn "Kitty" Louise (Roux) Goodyear, 92, went to be with our Lord April 29, 2016. She Graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fl. with a Degree in Biology and also was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Katheryn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lang Goodyear, two children, Wayne and Scotty and her parents. Katheryn was a Homemaker, beloved wife and mother. Surviving family members include her sons Randy (Jan) Goodyear, Tod (Doris) Goodyear, daughter Kathy (Eddy) Slattery. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 9:30 am- 10 am followed by funeral services at 10 am at St Paul's United Methodist Church, Melbourne, FL. Burial will follow in Lakeland, FL.

Katheryn Roux Goodyear was a lovely modest woman whose old Florida family was an important part of Florida history. Her grandparents donated land and funds to the University of FL in Gainesville. There are libraries at both UF and Florida Southern named "Roux Library" in their names. Katheryn's husband Lang was the love of her life and wrote a volume of beautiful poetry to her while he was in service during the Korean War. She was a fascinating woman, adored by her family.
