Leonard Dunbar Obituary

Randolph E. Dunbar

Melbourne Beach

Randolph (Randy) passed away at his home on February 5, 2017.  He was 88 years old.

Randy was a family man and an avid sportsman.

Randy graduated from Brown University with a degree in Chemistry. In his career, he went from newspaper boy, to bell hop at Fire Island, NY, to marketing executive in Shell Chemical Co., and finally to union representative at Revlon.

Randy had 64 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife - Ethel - and helped raised 3 adventurous sons: Kenny, Lenny, and Howie. He took the family on extended camping trips to Maine & Canada, and enjoyed family vacations at LBI, NJ.

Randy participated in wrestling & track, and started sharing his love of sports by teaching his children how to toss a ball, and coaching others in little league baseball & football. He went on to play golf, bowling, & tennis. But his most enjoyable activity was fishing.  Randy was very generous - passing along fishing tips & fish filets to his buddy's & Florida neighbors.  In his later years, he began all over again with his grandchildren: Brianna, Ariana, & Alex.Randy personally embellished his own good advice: "find time to relax and enjoy life!"

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel by the Sea on Saturday, February 11 at 2 pm.
