Peggy Clutts Obituary

Peggy Jacqueline Clutts

Cape Canaveral, FL

Peggy Jacqueline Clutts 67, of Cape Canaveral, FL, passed away Tuesday August 15, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacqueline and Carlos Clutts.

Peggy is survived by her brother David Clutts (Jackie) and sister Carol Miller (Clay); her nieces and nephews, Michele Clutts, Mark Clutts, Michael Clutts (Teri), Adrienne Matson (Justin), Trevor Durham (Melissa) and all of their nine beautiful children.

Peggy, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, also resided in Louisville, Kentucky, before relocating to Cape Canaveral for the last 33 years.  Peggy earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Biology and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Spalding University in Louisville.  She worked as a counselor/therapist for special education students in the Florida educational system.  She served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Behavioral Psychologist Specialist; and for many years was a member of the American Legion.  She sang and played the guitar, and enjoyed life to the fullest for as long as she could.  She didn't know a stranger.  She was a cancer survivor, but succumbed to other serious ailments.  She had unbelievable strength and determination.  She leaves behind her family and many friends that will miss her deeply.  She lived life HER WAY.  Her final wishes were that she be cremated and her remains scattered at sea.

"With you is the source of life;
By your light we can see light."

Peggy, I will love you and miss you forever! I never met anyone that had a sharper mind. You were never afraid of anything or anyone! You always knew how to light up everyone around you! I was so privileged to have you as my big sister! I know you just wanted to be able to live your life your way a little longer . . . I am so sorry that I could not grant that wish but when it is time, I will see you again and we will go to the beach together once again!

The world is less without you. You understood me, you KNEW me, and you looked after me like I was your daughter, not your niece. Even though today my soul is broken, it will heal. I know you'd have it no other way. I'm so very thankful I had the time with you I did, but selfishly I wish for more. Our conversations, while tough at times, loving at others, still ring in my ears. Someday, when my turn comes to leave this earth, I expect you there to bring me through to the next phase. Until that day, I'll keep you alive in my memories and my heart. I love you, Aunt Peggy. Eternally grateful to be lucky enough to be your Brown-eyed Girl. Love you always, Big Mac. (And yes, you're the only one who ever got to call me that)!
