James Monroe "Bud" Hogsed

James "Bud" Monroe Hogsed, 64, formerly of Melvin, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.

He had owned and operated a general merchandise store and later a liquor store, both in Melvin. He was a Christian and attended the Horizon Adult Center, in Richmond.

Survivors include, a brother, Carl Hogsed (JoLyn), of Richmond, KY; two sisters, Carol Baker (Frederick), of Jamestown, and Rita Hall (Chris), of Louisville; several nieces and nephews, Dawn Allen (Greg), Donald Tackett (Candy), Megan Hall, Carl J. Hogsed (Sarah), Morgan Hall, Ben Hogsed (Lauren), James S. Hogsed and Kathalena Hogsed; and several dearly beloved great nieces and nephews, Colby Allen, Madison Allen, Sophia Tackett, Isabella Tackett and John Hogsed.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, March 1, at the Oldham, Roberts, & Powell Funeral Home, in Richmond. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the service at 3.
