Luther Ousley, age 77, of Martin, husband of Eva Jean Hicks Ousley, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, in Lexington.
He was born June 6, 1936, in Martin, a son of the late Cephus and Rhoda Risner Ousley. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Praise Assembly Church, in Prestonsburg.
In addition to his wife, Eva Jean, he is survived by a son, Ricky Ousley, of David; three daughters, Sandra Kay Travis, of David, Libby Neeley, of Prestonsburg, and Teresa Gail (Larry) Younce, of Prestonsburg; a brother, James L. Ousley, of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Martha Jean Johnson, of Celina, Ohio, and Linda Sue Porter, of Martin; six grandchildren, Terina Renee Setser, Kyle Ousley, Heather Danielle Travis, Larry Kevin Younce, Ladara Rose and Brandon Neeley; and four great grandchildren, Madison Setser, William Setser, Catelyn Rose and Braydon Rose.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Ousley, and two sons-in-law, Tony Lee Travis and Darryl Neeley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 7, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with JM Sloce officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Hicks Cemetery, of David.
Visitation is from 6 until 9 p.m., Thursday, and until 9 p.m., Friday, at Hall Funeral Home.
