Ronald David Mosley, age 73, of Kendallville, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mr. Mosley was born at Lackey, on March 29, 1940, to D.C. Mosley and Hershey (Click) Mosley. He graduated from Prestonsburg High School in 1958 and entered the United States Navy, where he honorably served his country as a radio and communication specialist for 10 years during the Vietnam War. He married Geneva Bryant on Dec. 22, 1967, in Clintwood, W.Va. After his service in the Navy, Ron worked in communications with the Noble County Sheriff's Department dispatch two years and later began his career with the City of Kendallville Police Department. He worked for the city for 23 years before retiring.
Ron loved spending time with his family, collecting knives and attending auctions. Ron was a member of the Bethel Christian Baptist Church and attended weekly Bible study. He was also a member of the chess club and the American Legion Post #86 both in Kendallville.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Mosley, of Kendallville; two daughters, Carmen and Rod Howdyshell, of Angola, Ind., and Jennifer Mosley, of Kendallville; three grandchildren, Lauren Howdyshell and Logan Howdyshell, both of Angola, and Lauryl Aleshire, of Kendallville; four brothers-in-law and their wives, Bill and Bertha Bryant, of Kendallville, Keith and Susan Bryant, of Kendallville, Edgar and Daisy Bryant, of Martin, and Charles Bryant, of Albion, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Georgia Meyers and Dorothy Watkins; and his brothers, Mart Allen, John S. Allen, Billy Allen and Loye Thurston.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Hite Funeral Home, in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Hite Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery, in Kendallville.
Preferred memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Church.
