Sandy Boyd, 65, husband of Toni Allen Boyd, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Boyd was born in Dana, on Jan. 26, 1949, and was a retired school teacher and U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Lillian Jarrell Boyd; three sons, Mitchell T. Boyd, of Dana, Eric Allen Reid, of Drift, and Jesse James Sword, of Prestonsburg; four daughters, Stacy Boyd Akers, of Somerset, Brittany Boyd, of Irvine, Janie Lee Boyd, of Lexington, and Nichole Reid, of Prestonsburg; brothers, Randy and Tavis Boyd, of Dana, and Billis Boyd, of Loraine, Ohio; and nine grandchildren, Megan Dean, Shanan Akers, Shane Akers, Jordan Horne, Jackson Sword, Alexis Reid, Eric Reid, Raiden Reid and Alora Reid.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford Boyd; son, Sandy Boyd Jr.; and sister, Mary Jane Bailey.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin. Burial will follow in the Wilford Boyd Cemetery.
