James "Russell" Pitts

James "Russell" Pitts, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his home in Frankfort.

Born July 8, 1932, at Dock, to the late Allen and Goldie (Tussey) Pitts, he was retired from the old Proceline Metals company and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lima Jean (Johnson) Pitts, and a sister, Shirley Chumbley.

Russell is survived by his children, Pamela Polsgrove, Patricia Gillette (Joe), James Pitts and Dennis Pitts (Cheryl); eight grandchildren; a great grandchild; and brothers and sisters, Burnis Pitts (Jeanetta), Carol Tussey (Gordon), E.J. Pitts, Donna Dockery (Bob), Pearlie Goble (Zenith), Glenda Kay Howard (Jackie), Larry Allen Pitts (Glenda), Glennis Pitts (Sherry), Grover Pitts, Christine Chumbley (Dennis) and Mary Yelton (Leonard).

Funeral services were held Friday, March 21, at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, in Shelbyville, with entombment following in Resthaven Memorial Park.
