Loretta George Williams, 87, passed away Jan. 1, 2014, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.
Born Sept. 23, 1926, at East Point, she was the daughter of the late Sammie G. George and Lyda Burchett George. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Williams, on April 2, 2011, and also by a sister, Pauline Burton, and daughter-in-law, Barbara.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Slone and her husband, Eugene, of Prestonsburg; two sons, Paul Williams and Terry Williams, and his wife, Helen, both of Prestonsburg; two sisters, Jo Ann George and Jean Daniels, both of Prestonsburg; four grandchildren, Steve Jones, Jeffery Williams and his wife, Jennifer, Kimberly Smith and her husband, Kenny, and Amanda Looney and her husband, Kevin. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Halie Grace Looney and Sadie Elizabeth Williams.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, with Elders Jerry Colvin, Thirel Daniels and James R. Blair officiating. Burial was in Gethsemane Gardens, in Prestonsburg.
