Mary Moore Howell Mosley, age 89, of Grethel, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born March 22, 1924, at Ligon, a daughter of the late Winfield and Callie Boggs Moore. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnie Howell, and her second husband, Kennel Mosley. She was a member of the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by six daughters, Dotty (Carmel) Newman, of Grethel, Linda Sue (Wendell) McCoy, of Richmond, Anna Rose (William) Jenkins, of Lynchburg, Va., Beverly Faye (Charles Jeff) Hall, of Lexington, Carol Howell McGlothen (late husband Charles), of Printer, and Kimberly (Kenny) Little, of Wheelwright; three step-sons, Dennis (Cheri) Mosley, of Decatur, Ill., Gary (Beverly) Mosley, of Decatur, Ill., and Freddie (Colleen) Mosley, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a step-daughter, Kathy Mosley Ryan, of Taylor, Mich.; two sisters, Brenda Newman, of Salvisa, and Loretta Hall, of Rittman, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and quite a few great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kaye Howell; two brothers, Bascom Moore and Winfield Moore Jr.; and three sisters, Emogene Holt, Opal Hall and Oma Moore.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Hall Funeral Home chapel, in Martin, with Louie Ferrari officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery, at Hi Hat.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Thursday, with church services starting at 7 p.m., and Friday with Regular Baptist services starting at 7 p.m.
