Sereda Brown

Sereda Brown, 78, formerly of Banner, passed away recently following an extended illness.

She was born May 5, 1936 in Banner, the daughter of the late Leonard and Virda Jones. Recently she had resided in Woodstock, Ga., and most recently in Shelbyville. She was the clerk of Jones Store as well as the U.S. Post Office in Banner for many years, as well as an elections poll official in the Floyd County - Allen Precinct.

Sereda was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde and Johnny Bruce Jones, and by sisters, Irene Adkins and Ellen Campbell.

She is survived by four brothers, Hubert Jones, of Albion, Mich., Glenn Jones, of Mt. Sterling, James Jones and wife, Lisa, of Bradenton, Fla., and Ronnie Jones and wife, Vetta, of Banner; daughter, Kathleen Vance, of Bluefield, Va.; son, Howard Brown and his wife, Annette, of Shelbyville; daughter, Diane Sammis and her husband, Ralph, of Gaithersburg, Md.; son, Roger Brown, of Woodstock, Ga.; and two grandsons, Clayton Brown and Logan Brown, both of Lexington.

In lieu of flowers for a service, the family requests donations to be made to the in her honor.
