Dennis Clark "Denny" Gibson, age 68, of Langley, husband of Margarette "Peggy" Crum Gibson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at the Saint Joseph Hospital, in Martin.
He was born Nov. 10, 1945, in Martin, son of the late Champ Clark and Alda Hazel Hobbs Gibson. He was retired from the Food and Drug Administration, Kentucky Department of Public Health, was an Eagle Scout with the Maytown Boy Scouts and attended the Glo and Hueysville Churches of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Gwendolyn Mitcham, of Georgetown, Judy Turner, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Myra Beth Sandfoss, of Ft. Thomas; nephews, Thomas Clark (Reeda) Hewlett, of Frankfort, Mark Linus (Lynne) Hewlett, of Georgetown, and Bryan (Meredith) Sandfoss, of Ft. Thomas; nieces, Beth Anne (Robbie) Lindsay, of Lexington, and Judith Christine Hewlett, of Louisville; great nephews, Justin Charles Lindsay, Hunter Allen Lindsay, Kevin Logan Preston and Zachary Clark Hewlett; great nieces, Teal Nichole Hewlett and Natalie Elizabeth Hewlett; great great nephew, Riley Patrick Lindsay; and great great nieces, Aurora Sandfoss and Shelby Lynn Hewlett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Hall Funeral Home chapel, with Chester Varney officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibson Family Cemetery, at Langley.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, and after 10 a.m., Saturday, at the Hall Funeral Home.
