Larry Douglas Tipton, 72, of East Point, husband of Nancy Hall Tipton, died July 2, 2014, at Cornerstone Hospital, in Huntington, W.Va.
Born March 31, 1942, in Floyd County, to the late Carlson and Grace McCoy Tipton, he was a retired bus driver for the Floyd County Board of Education.
He is survived two sons, Greg Tipton, of Morgan County, and Mark Tipton, of Floyd County; four daughters, Linda Tipton, of East Point, Lisa Hoyt, of New York, Marsha Tipton Clark, of Detroit, Mich., and Grace Tipton Sneden, of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Jackie Tipton, of Lexington; two sisters, Jill Ratliff, of Indiana, and Shirley Ann Heron, of West Virginia ; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ginger Hall, Patty Porter and Wanda Lee Brock.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 6, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin. Burial followed in the Matthew Tackett Cemeter, at Melvin.
