A longtime resident of Geneva, Jane was born in Cincinnati, OH, one of nine children born to Victor and Edith Beischel. She was a graduate of Colerain High School. While a secretary at the American Can Company in Cincinnati Jane met Carl Frederick Molodetz. They married in 1947 and raised eight children, four sons and four daughters. Jane moved with her family to Geneva in 1962 when Carl was transferred with the American Can Co.
Jane was a devout Catholic and had a deep faith in God. She had a strong sense of responsibility to the people in her community and chose to be involved with organizations whose primary concern was service to others. Being a child of the Great Depression gave Jane a sense of thrift and the confidence that bad times are followed by good. She was a talented seamstress and quilter who made many heirloom quality quilts, every stitch sewn by hand. Jane was an avid reader who shared her love of books with her children, and often compared libraries to heaven. In addition to volunteering, reading and sewing, Jane was an avid Syracuse University basketball fan, who occasionally saw games at the Carrier Dome, even well into her 80s.
Over the years Jane's faith lead her to serve her community as a Girl Scout Leader, Happiness House volunteer, Chairman of the Geneva Human Rights Commission, board member of the Ontario Day Care Center, member of the Geneva Homes Improvement Corp., and member of the Friends of the Geneva Free Library. As a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish Jane taught religious education classes for 13 years, and served on the parish council as well as the Human Development committee. During her many years with the self-help sewing program at First Presbyterian Church Jane taught countless community members how to sew. Jane was a founder of Geneva's Center of Concern.
In 1982 the Geneva League of Women Voters honored Jane with the Agnes Slosson Lewis Award for outstanding community service.
She is survived by her brothers, Mark and Fr. Tom Beischel; and her sister, Sister Lucy Beischel. She is survived by her children, Mary Jo Vanderbles (Gary) of Binghamton, Ann of Geneva, Thomas (Revelyn) of Cortland, Patricia Titko (John) of Columbus, Ohio, Andrew (Margaret) of Canandai gua, Carol Barker (Greg) of Pine Lake, Mich., David (Jean) of Hartford, Conn., Stephen (Sandy) of Hart ford, Conn., 21 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Jane was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Carl, and her brothers Bob, Jack, Paul, Dave, and Fr. Richard Beischel.

I first met Jane when I joined the Thursday morning Bible Study that with the inclusion of one other person and myself changed the group from a Catholic Bible Study to an Ecumenical Bible Study. Thank you Jane for letting us in! I learned over the years to love and appreciate her deep faith, her laugh, her love of family, and all the other special things that made Jane, Jane! I will miss seeing her at Bible Study, but am looking forward to seeing her again. I know that she is happy to see her loved ones that passed before her. I love you Jane. You will be missed.
