Coach Henry had a great impact on many young men who played lacrosse for him at Mynderse Academy. We were fortunate to play and learn from an inspirational person.

I cannot express my profound sense of loss. Al was a special brother in college and although we had few meetings after graduation, there was always this connection. My sympathy to his family. We lost a special person but we were lucky to have him for as long as we did.

My sympathy goes out to the Henry family for your loss.
Mr Henry was an educator, both on and off the field. He taught in a manner where you would WANTED to learn, to do your best, and to become a better person for it.
On the lacrosse field a group of individuals became a Family. Mr. Henry left a lasting impression on us that will always be important...character. As important as a ground ball is in lacrosse, a persons character is important in life.

My thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Henry, Gavin, Stacey, Jill, and the awesome defensesmen Jamie. Mr. Henry was a remarkable man who taught the game of life as well as the game of lacrosse.

I've always thought of Mr. Henry whenever I give blood. It was only a few days ago when I was at Red Cross thinking of my old coach.

It seems like only yesterday that we tripped on Gavin's Big wheel as we started March practice on the parking lot and was shocked to learn of Mr. Henry as I searched for "Mynderse Academy" lacrosse.

In the last few months the Mynderse Academy lacrosse family have lost two remarkable men in Mr. Henry and Gerry Galusha.

"Al was one of the most dedicated teachers and coaches I ever knew. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was very devoted to the Red Cross Blood Dives for many years. How many lives were saved because Al ("Count Dracula") encouraged the students at Mynderse Academy to donate blood and promised them it would be one of the most meaningful things in their lives. Al will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Donald Gee-(co-worker and friends for many years)

His candle burned brightly from the love he had for his wife, children, family, co-workers, students and many, many friends. The light has dimmed, but still flickers from those who knew and loved him. He will long be remembered as a strong family man, coach, teacher and inspiration to many. To those who were fortunate to know and love him, his memory will live on for a lifetime. RIP Al Henry and may your candle burn brightly as you join Sharon once again.

I don't think there is anything I could write that Coach's family doesn't already know. How much he meant to me, and everyone who knew him; how much I love the entire family; how much I'll miss Coach. It's been an amazing experience, sharing memories of him with others online this week. I'm looking forward to coming home and seeing everyone again. I think Coach would love that he's being remembered so fondly, and that he's going to be the center of one of the biggest, happiest celebrations MA has seen in a long time.
