Penn Yan, N.Y. - David L. Schreiber, 81, passed away on Monday (March 4, 2013) at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday (March 8) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, N.Y. A memorial service for David will be at the funeral home on Saturday (March 9) at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David's name to Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, 418 N. Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.
David was born in Rochester, N.Y. on November 27, 1931 to the late Elias and Edna Davis Schreiber. He served in the US Marine Corps. Worked for T&G Electric, retiring from Penn Yan Plumbing. He was very active in athletics and with Parks & Recreations in Dresden and Penn Yan.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly Hansen Schreiber; children, Gail (Marc) Rogers, Debbie Schreiber, Doug (Sheri) Schreiber, Donna (Jim) Dellamore; grandchildren, Carla Belsher, Steve Dellamore, Walker Rogers, Kara Rogers, Corey Schreiber, Erin Schreiber; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Hayden Belsher; several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his siblings, Duane and Bernie Schreiber, Norma Wilson and JoAnn Robinson.
