Emily Carson Obituary
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St. Geneva, on Wednesday, (February 24, 2016) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, (February 25, 2016), in the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas P. Mull will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in Emily's honor, may be made to a Scholarship in her memory at the College of Nursing at Finger Lakes Health, 196 North St., Geneva, NY 14456.
Emily was born in Geneva on February 21, 1978 to Paul and Kathleen Murphy Carson. She was a graduate of Geneva High School and the Marion S. Whelan School of Nursing. She received her Registered Nursing Degree from the first graduating class at the College of Nursing at Finger Lakes Health. She was a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Geneva General Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Trae, Mya and Remi; her parents, Paul and Kathleen Carson of Geneva; her brother, Paul Carson Jr. of Rochester; her sister, Monica (Eric) Brasted of Brockport and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sorry for your loss, I knew Emily through my clinical experience as an LPN when she worked on 2West. Her kindness and compassion for nursing students was always one of her many beautiful traits she exhibited. I would see her out in the community and continued to be the most friendliest nurse I have had the experience to know. Good bye my friend

I am so sorry for this tragic loss. There are no words right now that can take this pain away. She is so well loved by her friends and colleagues. We grew up in the same neighborhood and went to school together. When she started working at the hospital, I remember my mom telling me stories about what a wonderful person and worker she was, how she was always so sweet to patients and everyone she met. Those stories continued for the last 15+ years.
Her life and love touched so many, and that is something we will all carry with us.

I worked with Emily on Living Center North many years ago. Just last week our paths crossed in the ER when I was there with my Mom. She greeted me with such enthusiasm and we had a chance to catch up a bit. My heart goes out to her entire family. May they gather some strength in the knowledge of what a terrific person she was.

I want to say that im so very sorry for this loss it breaks my heart to see someone so young have there life end due to something like this. Emily was always so sweet every time i saw her in the ER. She also was so very sweet to all her patients, she truly was such an insperation to others and loving. RIP Sweet angle you will be very much missed by everyone... To Emily's entire family, I knew Emily briefly as a CNA and RN on 2 West, but gained so much respect for her as a nurse in the ED. She greeted everyone with compassion and determination that the "moment" of intense could and would be overcome. She loved her role in the ED and met each challenge as her mother had taught her.
