A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday (July 22) at the Newark First Baptist Church.

Charles was born and raised in St. George, Maine and lived there for almost 50 years. He was a lobsterman and later became a tool and die maker, pursuing that occupation until his retirement. He served in the US Navy in the Pacific from 1945 to 1947. Charles lived out his retirement years in Florida spending summers in Maine and playing golf.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Donna (John) Smith; grandchildren, Christopher (Roberta), Brian, Jeffrey (Tamera), and Timothy (Christine) Smith; 10 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Emily, Alex, Ethan, Joshua, Matthew, Ryan, and Justin Smith, Corey and Brittany Ciotti; sisters, Louise, Virginia, Elosia, and Alice ; brothers, Alfred and Arthur and many other extended family members.
Charles is pre deceased by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; parents, James and Emma; brothers, James and Austin ; and special friend, Betty Wilson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Patrick Funeral Home, Clifton Springs.
