LYONS - Charles L. Burton, 93, a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home since 2004, passed away Monday (May 24, 2010).
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday (May 27) at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday (May 28) in the Elmwood Cemetery, Lyons.
Memorials may be directed to the Town of Lyons Ambulance or to St. Michael's Church, Lyons.
Charlie was born on January 7, 1917, in Lyons, a son to John and Martha Lane Burton. He was an area farmer until 1946 and then was employed at Garlock in Palmyra, where he retired in 1977. He was a member of the Eureka Grange since 1941.
He is survived by his son, John C. of Lyons; daughter, Brenda Braun of Buffalo; grandson, Joshua DiSanto; granddaughter, Krystal DiSanto; special niece, Joyce (Herbert) Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anne J. Burton, in 2008; and three sisters, Laura Steitler, Grace Libby and Emma Humbert.
