Dianne Fredericks Obituary

NEWVILLE - Dianne (Waltz) Fredericks, 59, of 130 Cramer Road, Little Falls, Herkimer County, passed away Friday (Nov. 13, 2009) at Faxton–St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, with her loving family and friends at her side.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, and to attend the funeral services at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls. The Rev. Ralph Horender, Indian Castle, will officiate. Interment will take place in Ephratah Rural Cemetery, Ephratah, Fulton County.

Contributions in memory of Dianne can be made to the Helping Animals Live Organization, 72 N. Ann St., Little Falls 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.

Dianne was born March 12, 1950, in Geneva, the daughter of the late F. Gilbert and Gloria (Schaefer) Waltz. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1968. She attended the State University of New York at Canton and was a graduate of Eisenhower College, Seneca Falls, where she received her degree in humanities. She was united in marriage to her husband of 33 years, Donald E. Fredericks, on Aug. 21, 1976, at the North Presbyterian Church, Geneva. Dianne was an active member of the Benton Hall Academy PTC for many years and at one time served as president of that organization. For the past nine years, she had been employed by Little Falls City School District at Benton Hall Academy as a teacher's aide. She also served as a substitute teacher in Little Falls for several years. A loving and devoted wife and mother, she especially adored her beloved granddaughter, Madalyn.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Colette Fredericks of Ilion, Herkimer County; daughter, Nicole Fredericks of Little Falls; granddaughter, Madalyn Fredericks of Ilion; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Michael Vassello of Geneva; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Myra Fredericks of Little Falls, Dale and Rebecca Fredericks of Little Falls, Vickie and Charles Dunn of Raleigh, N.C., Gale and Robert Palmer of Fort Plain, Montgomery County; and several nieces and nephews.

Dianne was a cherished friend and one of my best 1:1 aides in my classroom. I could only hope that we all learn from the way she lived; with true compassion, kindness and finding no fault in others. I am one of the fortunate few to have had the opportunity to have her in my life.

Dianne was a year ahead of me in high school. I remember her as one of the kindest,sweetest people I've ever met. Those who were fortunate enough to have had Dianne touch their lives could not forget her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I was so sorry to hear the news of Dianne's passing. We graduated in 1968 together and I remember Dianne as one of the nicest, sweetest people, with a wonderful smile and kind word for everyone. Condolences to all her family.

I was so sorry to hear about Dianne. She and I graduated from Geneva High together in 1968. She was one of the sweetest girls I ever met, and was one of my bestfriends. I will miss her.

Dianne was my sisters(Pat Stock) very good friend and college classmate. I remember Dianne as always having a smile on her face. She will be missed by all who knew her. Our prayers are with her family and friends. Jim and Rosemary Casadonte.
