CLIFTON SPRINGS - Gilbert Adams, age 83, passed away on Monday (May 27, 2013) at the House of John in Clifton Springs. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday (May 31st) at the Patrick Funeral Home, 26 West Main Street, Clifton Springs. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (June 1st) at the Clifton Springs First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the , House of John or the Clifton Springs First Baptist Church in Gilbert's memory.
Gilbert was born Sept. 03, 1929 in Canandaigua, N.Y., the son of the late Edward and Sarah Adams. He graduated from Clifton Springs High School in 1948 and was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute. Gilbert served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an accountant for Garlock, retiring after 36 years of service. Gilbert was a lifetime member of the Clifton Springs First Baptist Church where he was involved in the church choir. He was a member of the Clifton Springs His to r ical Society and treasurer for River View Cemetery. He also was involved with the home delivery for Meals on Wheels. Gilbert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. He will be sadly missed.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Ruth Frederick Adams; children, Scott Adams of Rome, Gary (Charlie) Adams of N.J., and Laurie (Christopher) Adams of Fairport; grandchildren, Samuel, Sarah and Thomas Pane; brother, Ralph (Mable) Adams of Clifton Springs; brothers-in-law, George (Jeannie) Frederick of Tenn., and John (Jan) Frederick of Clifton Springs, sisters-in-law, Jean Gifford of Clifton Springs, Nina (Judson) Ingraham of Victor, Martha (Donald) Verplank of Fairport, Evelyn (Jerry) McClure of Canadice, Donna (Dominic) Giardino of Geneva and Mary (Bob) Ruggles of Phelps; extended family, Joe (Carolyn) Hinchman of Rochester, Jim (Kathie) Dymond and family of Va.; exchange students and families, Carsten (Christina) of Germany, Nelson of Costa Rica, Sara of Spain, Adrian of Austria and Eduardo of Argentina; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gilbert is predeceased by his sister, Jean Adams and brother-in-law, Gerald Gifford.
