NEWARK - Albrecht, Leona E. (King), died on Tuesday, (August 2, 2011) at the age of 87.

Leona was born on March 3, 1924, in Newark to Jacob and Louise Johnson King. She graduated from Newark Washington High School at the age of 15. Leona was married to Leslie Albrecht on September 3, 1942 in New Orleans, La. She was the bookkeeper for Les Albrecht Trucking. Leona enjoyed country music, baking, caring for her lawns and had been an avid bowler and card player. She was a sports fan and rooted for the Yankees, Buffalo Bills and especially Nascar driver Jeff Gordon. Leona enjoyed the outdoors and spent a great deal of time at her camp on Uncas Road in the Adirondacks. She was a funny, hardworking, strong wife and mother.
Mrs. Albrecht is survived by her daughters Nancy Chase, Joan (Gary Seymour) Breisch, and Sandra (Donald Chinni) Albrecht; sister Virginia Rahm; grandchildren Randyl Chase, Christopher Chase and Margo Breisch; great-grandson Randyl Shane Chase and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Leslie in 1992 and siblings Esther King, Marilyn Foley. Madolin Bushart, Bob King and Jacob King Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday (August 6) at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 West Main Street, Palmyra, New York. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.
