Penn Yan, N.Y. - Richard A. Alderman, 71, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, (February 25, 2014).
Dick, known to many as "Nummy", was born on February 11, 1943 in Penn Yan. He was a lifelong resident, and a proud veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne.
Dick is survived by his wife, Bette; his daughter, Lisa (Dave) Hartman; three grandchildren, Katy Worden, Nick and Justin Alderman; step-children Stephanie Smolos and Annette (Derek) Nielsen; and cousin Sandra Miles (Harvey).
He was predeceased by his son Jason, and his mother, Helen Baxter.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Penn Yan American Legion on Saturday, (March 1, 2014) from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with service and military honors beginning at 12:00 p.m..
