GENEVA - Joseph M. McCusker, 51, of Williams ville, N.Y., formerly of Gen eva, passed away on Sunday (February 9, 2014) in his home as a result of a fire.

Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., on Friday (February 14, 2014) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (February 15, 2014), in the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Joseph was born in Elmi ra and resided in Gen eva for many years. He was the son of Margaret Mary Simpson McCusker and the late Donald M. McCusker. He was a graduate of DeSales High School, Fordham Universi ty and St. John's Univer sity Law School. He formerly taught at DeSales High School in Geneva and moved to Buffalo and was working with the Phillips, Lyle LLP Law Firm.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret M. McCusker of Geneva; his brother, James McCusker of Rochester; his sisters, Carolyn McCusker of the Bronx, N.Y., and Mary (Peter) Byer of Geneva; his niece, Samantha Hess, his nephews, Charles and Donald Hess; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father and his sister, Elizabeth McCusker.
