GENEVA - Richie Cocola passed away on March 19, 2014 in Florida.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, (April 7, 2014), in Our Lady of Peace Chapel located adjacent to St. Francis de Sales Church, 130 Exchange St., Geneva. N.Y.
Richie was born in Geneva on January 20, 1939 to the late Anthony and Catherine Gigliotti Cocola. He was a 1948 graduate of Geneva High School and served with the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. On October 20, 1956 he married Teresa Acquilano of Geneva. He retired from the American Can Co., and made his home in the Finger Lakes and in Florida.
Richie is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children, Susan (Jim) Ross, Tom (Judy) Cocola and Kristine (Erich) Brugmann; his grandchildren Hilary (Paul) Browning, Ian Ross, Stephanie and Anthony Cocola and Veronica and Valerie Brugmann; two sisters, Lena Sposato and Lucy Quercia; nieces and nephews; and his sisters-in-law, Ginny (Dom) Cotroneo, Janice (Bernie) DiDuro and Carol (Alex) Addona.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by, his sisters Elizabeth Coluzzi and Connie Elder, and his brothers Joe, Jim and Frank. He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Nicholas and Carmella Acquilano, and his brother-in-law Alfred Cervo.
