Nona was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y. and married her high school sweetheart and lovingly raised three children (five dogs and four cats). She worked as the Vice President of the Mortgage Department at the Seneca Falls Savings Bank for 10 years. Nona was an accomplished seamstress, but her passion was music. She loved singing and line dancing and could never sit still when a good song was playing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald Mackey; her three children Mary (Erdal) Erturk, Kathryn (Phil) Alvaro and Don (Patti) Mackey; seven grandchildren, Erin Erturk and Erol (Ashleigh) Erturk, Phil Alvaro and Robert Alvaro, Mac (Kari) Mackey, Jesse (Melissa) Mackey and Katie Mackey; a sister June Carroll; two nieces, Mary Lee (Dave) Connolly and Mary Ann Ragan; and a nephew Bill (Claudia) Carroll; and many wonderful friends and neighbors from Kings Point.
The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to Dr. Riazudeen for his excellent care, Reverend Mary Bushong for her daily visits and for all those who held Nona in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home (813) 634-9900.
