SENECA FALLS - Joan C. Bonacci, 76, of Clinton St., Seneca Falls, died Tuesday (January 10, 2012) at Highland Hospital, Rochester, after a brief illness.

Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Thursday (January 12) from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday (January 13) at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls.

Joan was born in Geneva on May 19, 1935, the daughter of the late Gordon and C. Anna Disinger Peterson. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls, was retired from Malone- Rivers Century 21 Real Estate of Seneca Falls where she was a real estate broker. She, also, had been employed at the Waterloo Central School System where she was executive secretary to the superintendent of schools. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls. Joan loved to sew, fish, tend to her flower garden and spend time with her family. Joan and her husband, Mike, were avid sports fans who loved attending the sports events of their grand children and also kept a close eye on the Syracuse Basketball team and the New York Giants.
She is survived by: her husband, Mike A. Bonacci of Seneca Falls whom she married on April 21, 1956, two daughters, Sonya (Richard) Smith, Seneca Falls, Susan Schaefer, Osprey, Florida, six grandchildren, Amanda, Derek, Colleen, and Abigail Smith, Courtney and Ciara Schaefer, one great grandson, Cashius.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her son-in-law, Donald Schaefer who died March 8, 2011.
