Doris Covert Smith Obituary
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Green Cemetery in Romulus.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or organization of one's choice.
Doris was born May 15, 1931 in Seneca, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Esther Miles Covert. She was a 1949 Waterloo High School graduate. Doris retired from Willard Psychiatric Center in May of 1996.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Richard and Linda Roach of Waterloo, Steve and Merilyn Roach of Pensacola, Fla., and Michael and Judy Smith of Phoenix, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Covert of Salisbury, N.C. and Chester Covert of Geneva, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Venile "Mike" Smith; two brothers, Donald and Albert Covert; and one sister, Joan Finch.

I am so sorry to hear of her death. My mother spoke of her as she was her first cousin. I remember my great uncle Charlie and visiting in Waterloo. If you are into ancestry please get in touch. My address is 2800 River Hill Rd, Murphy NC 28906. I am Grace Covert Simons' daughter.
