Betty Jean Boyle, 78, of Cumming passed away Sept. 4, 2013. Born in Charlotte, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Frances Hudson.
Betty Jean and Jim grew up in Florence, S.C., met in high school, attended Furman University and married on Dec. 26, 1955. Betty Jean accompanied and supported Jim throughout his 30 year military career. She proved to be the perfect military wife. When he was given new assignments, she managed each move with cheerfulness and aplomb. She handled every detail. Wherever stationed, she provided a supportive, loving home for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Boyle of Cumming; son, Michael Boyle and his fiancée Alla Tsipenyuk; son, Kenneth and wife Marian Boyle of Urbandale, Iowa; brother, Orlando DeLorme Hudson and wife Beth of Redstone, Colo.; nephews, Blair, Blake and Blaine Hudson; beloved grandchildren, James, Berit, Camilla, Robert, Ryan, and Carson Boyle, and sisters-in-law, Norma Boyle Childers and Donna Hudson.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. in the McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1-2 p.m. Entombment will follow at Sarasota Memorial Park in Sarasota, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Betty's name to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
