Christine F. Bowman, age 88, of Cumming passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. Born March 26, 1926, in Mooresville, N.C., Chris had lived in Cumming since 2007, moving here from Orlando, Fla., where she was a long-time resident. Very passionate about people, Chris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Bowman; sons, John L. Bowman Jr. and Jeffrey L. Bowman, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Serena C. Bowman of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Steven Bowman of Clermont, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Emily Sherman and Zachary Sherman, both of Daytona Beach; brothers, Rufus John Follette and his wife Virginia of Clemmons, N.C., Henry Follette and his wife Dixie of Salisbury, N.C.; sister, Rosetta Foust of Morganton, N.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A Requiem Mass will be held Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Columba's Episcopal Church in Suwanee, with the Rev. Fr. Tripp Norris as Celebrant. The family will receive friends at a reception following the mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Columba's Episcopal Church.
