Earl Wiley Kemp (E.W.), age 84, of Cumming passed away April 21, 2013, at Embracing Hospice. He was born Aug. 16, 1928, to Henry Clayton and Effie Turner Kemp.
Earl had always been very active in his church. He was a member at Cumming First United Methodist Church. When Earl was younger, he was active at Skyland United Methodist Church. He was a member of the United Methodist Women helping with all of their projects. He was the man of the year for the UMM and a handyman for the congregation. Earl and his wife Bobbie were "Couple of the Year" at Skyland United Methodist Church in Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clayton and Effie Turner Kemp.
He is survived by his ever loving wife of 61 years, Bobbie Teagle Kemp of Cumming; son, Leslie Earl Kemp of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; sisters, Helen Metts of Lineville, Ala., Betty (Wayne) Abernathy; brother, Joe (Mariana) Kemp of Douglasville; nieces and nephews, Cindy Abernathy and her children of Dawsonville, Len (Ron) Nunnally and their son Christopher of Milton, Joshua and Kimberly Kemp of Douglasville, Paula Smith of Morriston, Fla., Jerry Foxworth and his children of Delta, Ala., Gary (Sue) Foxworth and their children of Kennesaw.
Funeral services will held Tuesday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Kathie Stasko of Cumming First United Methodist Church and the Rev. Richard Huycke of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Danielville officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Tuesday from 12:30-2 p.m.
