Virginia Vickers Elsner, born Sept. 9, 1922, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Elsner Gilewski; son-in-law, Dennis Gilewski of Cumming; her niece, Virginia Lee Harris of Atlanta.
She was born in Atlanta, and married Robert Elsner in 1941. They resided in Austell, until 1971, when they moved to Cumming. Her hobbies included horseback riding, swimming, gardening, boating and she was an avid reader of mystery novels. Her passion for life and her love of animals was second to none. She devoted her entire life to raising her daughter and being a loving wife until the passing of her devoted husband in 1992.
Virginia was the "life of the party", loved socializing and touched the hearts of everyone she met.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the home of her daughter on Jan. 14.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Forsyth County Humane Society.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

One of the sweetest people I have ever known. She loved everyone and I loved her. Gave real hugs and made delicious eggs. I could talk to her for hours and wish I had talked more. She was one-of-a-kind. No words can really express who she was. Only the people who had the pleasure of meeting her know. There's a special place in Heaven for her. I will truly miss Virginia for the rest of my life. I hope to see her again someday. Love you Virginia.
