Robert (Bob) Anthony Nicotri, age 64, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Benjamin and Charlotte Nicotri; and his nephew Ryan Nicotri. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Nancy Lee Nicotri; his son and daughter-in-law Todd and Lindsey Slinker; his beloved grandchildren Hannah and Owen Slinker; his sister and brother-in-law Dr. Bette Nicotri and Dr. Bill Jones; and their children Wayne and Nicki; his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Sarah Nicotri; and their daughter Heather; as well as many more family members and friends who all loved and adored his gentle, sweet spirit.
Bob was born in Amityville, N.Y. in 1953 and graduated from Canastota High School in 1971. He traveled to warmer weather to attend The University of Miami and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology. Bob found a love for flying airplanes and obtained his private pilot license flying small planes from South Florida to the Bahamas. He decided to make flying his profession and moved to Atlanta where he gained employment with Delta Airlines. After working as a pilot with Delta for over 26 years he retired as a Captain on a Boeing 767. Bob not only had a love for flying, but also a love for the water. He was happiest when he was boating or fishing with Nancy and their friends.
The family will have a graveside service in Senoia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to The Oral Cancer Foundation to help aid in the detection and research for oral cancer.

Our deepest sympathies to Nancy, Todd, daughter in-law Lindsey and grandchildren. Even though we only knew Bob for 3 SHORT YEARS as a next door neighbor, he was the bright light to our patio/ driveway chats. He will be GREATLY missed.

Bill, Brantly and I are brokenhearted over Bobby's passing. Although we only saw our cousins occasionally when growing up, we love them like brothers and sisters. We have his family, and the families of Jim and Betty in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know when y'all will be in Senoia. We want to attend the service, and to see y'all. RIP Bobby. You were loved by many and will be missed.

My dearest Uncle Bob.
He was the type of man that others strive to be, his son is a shining example of just that - father like son. He was the embodiment of love when it came to being the best husband to Aunt Nancy, their love is forever a symbol of devotion in my eyes. They went above and beyond for one another.
Bob was my second father when I was a child, he made sure I was well taken care of and every year I would spend all summer with Bob and Nancy. My favourite memories are of him arriving home from Hartsfeild airport after a bout of flying in his Captain's uniform and that brief case in hand! He would always bring home chocolates from some far off land! I will always hold the memory of him being at my wedding as a father figure in a special place within my heart.
I will greatly miss his presence in this world, but I do know he is off soaring the eternal skies and wading in the warm ocean of the heavens.
You are forever loved Bobio!

Bob Nicotri brought joy to those around him. I never saw him without a smile and a gracious comment. He was in my new hire class at Delta in 1979. He made studying look easy and was always willing to help each of us, with a word of encouragement, piece of technical knowledge, or a funny comment. It was a joy to be around him.
