Randal Andrew Ackerman Jr., "Andrew", age 31, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Andrew was born in Cumming, Jan. 25, 1982. He attended South Forsyth High School and then joined the United States Army. He was a helicopter power plant technician. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He served his country for 10 years and received an honorable discharge Jan. 25, 2013. Andrew resided in Sandy Springs and worked in Atlanta.
Andrew was the son of his loving father, the late Randal Andrew Ackerman.
He is survived by his mother, Molly L. Ackerman; sister, Anne Ackerman Partamian; brother-in-law, James Partamian; niece, Penelope Partamian; nephew, Jack Partamian; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Columba's Episcopal Church in Suwanee, with the Rev. Father Tripp Norris as celebrant. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 6-9 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home.
