Robert McGregor Cooley, 78, of Gainesville passed away Nov. 11, 2012. Born in Humboldt, Tenn., he was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Louise Cooley; and his sister, Edith Edwards.

After graduating high school, Mr. Cooley proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal CV-59.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Cooley; son, Chuck and his wife Lara of Woodstock; son, Steve and his wife Cynthia of Cumming; sister, Carolyn Norton of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Ian, Emma, Andrew, Jordan, Matthew, and Jenna.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. David White officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming.
