Almon William Garner, 82, of Cumming died on Oct. 27, 2014, at Northside Hospital Forsyth. Born in Carrollton, he was the son of the late Charles and Beatrice Garner.
Almon served in the U.S. Army and was active in the American Legion. He retired from the FAA after 44 years. He was also an active member of Cumming First United Methodist Church.
Almon is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Garner of Cumming; sons, Steven (Debra) Garner of Grayson, Anthony (Kathleen) Garner of Lawrenceville, and Gregory (Elizabeth) Garner of Fayetteville; and much-loved grandchildren, Grant Garner, Beren Garner, John Findley and Laura Peresta; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Peresta.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Interment followed at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
