Mrs. Alta Lee "Runt" Thomas, age 85, of Cumming passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Thomas was an active member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church for many years having served in the nursery during Vacation Bible School before moving her membership to Bethel Baptist Church. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Roscoe Thomas of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Leroy Hubbard and Joy and John Dooley, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Tim and Melissa Hubbard of Cumming, Russ and Kristie Hubbard of Cumming, Jennifer and Chris D'Agnese of Winder and Caren Dooley of Cumming; great-grandchildren, T.C., Josh, Jake and Sarah Hubbard and Christian Thomas D'Agnese; sister, Bennie Nell Strickland of Augusta; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8165 Bethel Rd., Gainesville, GA 30534.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 3 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rev. Tim Hubbard, Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Melvin Richards and Rev. Rex Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 8, from 4-9 p.m.
