Amelia "Amy" Ann Atkins, 61, of Cumming, formerly of Ringwood, N.J., passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at her residence.
Amy was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Duluth. She was well known for always extending a helping hand to others and she loved to garden and cook for the family.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Anthony "Tony" Atkins of Cumming; son, Scott Atkins of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Patricia Fay of Cumming; four nieces; and one nephew.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Duluth at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
A reception will follow the Committal service at the funeral home.
