Ann Frances Roberts, 73, of Cumming passed away on April 11, 2009, at Northside Hospital Atlanta. Born in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Catherine Burdick.
Ann was an avid quilter and a member of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Bulloch Hall Quilt Guild and the Cumming Sunset Quilters. She displayed her quilts in several quilt shows and received many awards.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William Myrnice Roberts of Cumming; daughters, Lindsay Ann (William Gary) Layton of Lithia Springs, Dawn Marie (Anthony) Hudgins of Menlo; son, William Myrnice (An Aspen) Roberts II of Cumming; granddaughters, Katie Lee Layton of Lithia Springs, Stacy Roberts of Lithia Springs, Allison Hudgins of Menlo; grandsons, William Myrnice Roberts III of Bradford, R.I., Alex Layton of Lithia Springs, Storm Roberts of Cumming, Andrew Soule of Menlo, Jabe Roberts of Cumming, Elijah Hudgins of Menlo; great-grandson, Hayden Layton of Lithia Springs; brothers, Rick Christensen of Fenton, Mich., Jim Burdick of Belleville, Mich.; and sister, Kitty Whiteman of Newark, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Deborah Girffith officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at the AMI Cemetery in Menlo. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Ann Roberts to the Georgia Quilt Council - Museum Fund, c/o Marilyn Osterkamp, 205 Auburn Parkway, Athens, GA 30606-1917.
