Annie Bell (Phillips) McDougald, age 87, of Flowery Branch passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at her residence following a sudden illness.
Mrs. McDougald was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Forsyth County, to the late Early C. Phillips and Genia Mangum Phillips. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived most of her life in Hall County, and was retired from Mooney Manufacturing Company, a furniture company that was located in Flowery Branch, where she worked for a number of years. Annie Bell was a faithful, dedicated, longtime member of Mulberry Baptist Church in Hoschton, who loved and lived for the Lord daily.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. John O. McDougald; sisters, Virginia Cruse, Eva Millwood, Inez Millwood, Jewel Bryan; brothers, Clyde (Hut) Phillips, J.T. Phillips, Radford Phillips, Rev. Hoyt Phillips.
Mrs. McDougald is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Doug Wright; son and daughter-in-law, Jacky and Evelyn McDougald, all of Oakwood; grandson and his wife, Tim and Tammy Wright of Braselton; granddaughter, Tabitha Wright of Oakwood; grandsons and their wives, Jason and Candace McDougald of Gainesville, Joshua and Kelley McDougald of Flowery Branch; great-grandchildren, Austin Wright and Cady Wright of Braselton, Dallas Wright of Oakwood; sister, Thelma Tullis of Buford; sisters-in-law, Lois Phillips of Flowery Branch, Elizabeth Rogers of Marietta; good friends that were like a sister to her, Jerline Stephens, Effie Long; and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Ollie V. Hayes and the Rev. David Pruitt officiating. Interment followed in Broadlawn Cemetery in Buford.
