Barbara Ann Anglin, age 56, of Cartersville was granted her angel wings and rode into Heaven on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 while under the care of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Atlanta. Our family is forever grateful for the care and comfort given to Barbara during her stay at this facility.
Barbara "Babs" was born Nov. 19, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio to Kenneth and Shirley Leslie.
During her younger years, Babs enjoyed riding horses and spending time with her friends, until she first got on a Harley. She then spent many years with the wind in her hair, taking many trips with her friends and family. Her longest ride was to Sturgis, South Dakota, where she travelled over 1500 miles to attend the 50th Annual Sturgis Bike Rally in 1990.
Babs was a loving and devoted grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. She had an uncanny green thumb when it came to her flower gardens. Oh, she so loved the outdoors. Her sense of humor was adored by everyone she met punctuated by her infectious laugh.
Babs ventured off to live in Asheville, N.C. for a few years, but returned to Georgia a couple of years ago, hanging up her riding gear to settle in to enjoy her children and grandchildren. When Babs became "Grammy", her heart became full again.
Barbara is survived by her two brothers, David Leslie and his wife Barbara of Mansfield, Daniel Leslie of Rock Hill, S.C.; and sister, Linda Godbey and her husband Dale of Rock Hill, S.C.; two daughters, Katrina Grubbs and her husband Kevin of Cartersville, Nicole Anglin of Cartersville; and two grandchildren, Maddie and Cliff Conlon of Cartersville. All were cherished by Babs, as she was beloved by them.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at Set Free Church located at 2441 Dawson Forest Rd. East, Dawsonville, GA 30534, Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 760 Pollard Blvd. S.W., Atlanta, GA 30315.
